AASU to Offer Study Abroad
in Trinidad
SAVANNAH, GAJanuary 25, 2004Armstrong Atlantic
State University has signed an agreement with the University of the
West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad, to begin exchanging students
in the study abroad program. The program is a first for the region,
with the Dominican Republic being the next closest country with a program.
The first group participating from AASU will consist of about twenty
studentse enrolled in a world health course in the health sciences department.
In the future, Armstrong Atlantic plans to send groups from nationalism,
womens studies, African Diaspora, and engineering courses.
AASU organizes study abroad and exchange programs in more than sixty
countries. These programs are offered in coordination with the University
System of Georgia. This fall, Armstrong Atlantic enrolled 215 students
