Editor Elected to GCPA Senior Board of Directors
Savannah, GA—April
19, 2004—Chris Lancia, Editor of The Inkwell at Armstrong Atlantic
State University (AASU), was elected as a member of the Senior Board of
Directors for the Georgia College Press Association (GCPA). This is the
first time an AASU student has been elected to an office of the GCPA.
Lancia is a rising senior in the English Communications program at AASU.
During his time at AASU, he has served as a Student Government Association
Senator, a Student Honor Court member, a CHAOS leader, and was the public
address announcer for the 2003-04 basketball season. He received the Outstanding
Sportswriting Award in the large university division at the Southern Regional
Press Institute in 2002 and 2003. Lancia has been working as a freelance
journalist, for publications such as the Jasper County Sun and the Carolina
Morning News, for the past four years.
