Celebrate AASU Day to be Held October 9

Savannah, GA—Armstrong Atlantic State University will welcome back students with live music, home-cooked food, carnival rides, and games during the seventh annual Celebrate AASU Day. The fall festival will be held on October 9 from 12 to 6:00 P.M. in the academic quadrangle, located at the center of campus.

The festival is held each fall to welcome students back to school and to give all members of the university community a day to relax and enjoy themselves. Popular with students, faculty and staff, the event is one of the most well attended student activities of the year.

Join the kick off at 12:30 P.M. as physics professor Roy Wood has a concrete block smashed on his chest while lying on a bed of nails. Samba to the Latin soul sounds of J'ZABEL, out of Miami, from 12:30 to 1:45 P.M. Savannah songsters, Bucky and Barry, will follow from 2:00 until 5:00 P.M.

Eighteenth century memorabilia, including clothing, tools, and cooking utensils, will be displayed by costumed historians. Other activities will include the Trampoline Thing, the Giant Slide, the Bungee Run, the Rock Wall, and the Dunk the Professor Booth. Body Art by Susan and Balloon Creations by Lester will be available from noon to 2:00 P.M. and again from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M.

The Office of International Education will host its fourteenth annual Study Abroad Fair from 11:00 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Professors and loan specialists will be on hand to assist students who are interested in having an experience of a lifetime.
