U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Fellow to Speak at AASU


(Savannah, GA-April 3, 2007) Kevin Spicer, C.S.C., will give a lecture, "Father, what did you do during the Third Reich? Catholic Clergy and National Socialism," at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, in the Armstrong Center, 13040 Abercorn Street.

The talk focuses on collaboration between the clergy and the Nazi regime. The event is free and open to the public.

Spicer is a Roman Catholic priest, a history professor at Stonehill College, and a research fellow of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. His research focuses primarily on modern Germany, most specifically on the relationship of the Catholic Church to the National Socialist state. For his Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies Fellowship, Professor Spicer conducts research and writes on, "Hitler's Priests: Catholic Clergy in the Nazi Party."
