Student Awarded Health Services Administration Scholarship(April 3, 2008) Gregory Turner, a first-year student in the Master of Health Services Administration program at Armstrong Atlantic State University's (AASU) College of Health Professions, has been awarded the Foster G. McGaw scholarship for 2008. The Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) sponsors the McGaw scholarship. It is awarded annually to students who show great potential as emerging leaders in the field of health administration. Scholarship funds are awarded each year to all AUPHA full graduate programs. The faculty and administration within these programs select the students most deserving of recognition. "Greg is highly deserving of this scholarship award," said Joey Crosby, AASU associate professor of health services administration. "He has substantial potential to become an influential leader in the field of health care management in the future, and he displays all of the requisite qualities needed to get from here to there." Turner and other scholarship recipients will be honored by AUPHA at its national meeting in June in Washington, D.C. The students are also listed as McGaw scholarship recipients in official publications of AUPHA. In addition to his academic work, Turner, of Columbus, GA, is currently completing an administrative internship in medical practice management with St. Joseph's/Candler. |
