Main Page Contact Francisco Duque, 912.961.3173 For Immediate Release Poetry Reading at AASU March 20(Savannah, GA-March 6, 2007) The 2007 Poetry Society of Georgia/Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) Reading Series continues with a poetry reading by Wilmer Mills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, in the Armstrong Center Ballroom B, 13040 Abercorn Street. This event is free and open to the public. Mills graduated from The McCallie School in 1988. He holds a bachelor's in English literature from the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. His first book of poems, a chapbook, Right as Rain, was published in 1999. His most recent collection of poems is Light for the Orphans (2004). Mills' poetry has appeared in The New Republic, The Hudson Review, Poetry, The New Criterion, Shenandoah, Literary Imagination, Southern Poetry Review, and others. His poems have been anthologized in Pengiun/Longman Anthology of Contemporary American Poets, 2004, and are forthcoming from The Zoo Press Anthology of Younger American Poets, 2004. He currently teaches poetry at Covenant College. The Poetry Society of Georgia, Southern Poetry Review, and AASU's Department of Languages, Literature, and Philosophy sponsor the series.
