Main Page Contact Francisco Duque, 912.961.3173 For Immediate Release Poet Lola Haskins to Read from Her Poems at AASU April 17(Savannah, GA, April 4, 2007) Lola Haskins will read a selection of her poems on April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Armstrong Center, Ballroom B, 13040 Abercorn Street. This event is free and open to the public. The presentation is part of the 2007 Poetry Society of Georgia/Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) Reading Series. Haskins' poetry has appeared in The Atlantic, The London Review of Books, Prairie Schooner, Southern Review, Georgia Review, and elsewhere. She has published eight collections, most recently Desire Lines, New and Selected Poems (BOA 2004). Two prose books are forthcoming this year, Not Feathers Yet: A Beginner's Guide to the Poetic Life, and Solutions Beginning with A, a book of fables about women. Her commentaries are regularly broadcast on the Recess radio program. The Poetry Society of Georgia, Southern Poetry Review, and AASU's Department of Languages, Literature, and Philosophy sponsor the series. Refreshments will be served.
