Growing IT Company Brings Expansion to AASU CampusSavannah, GA--October 19, 2006 -- First District Congressman Jack Kingston today joined the senior management of ProLogic, Inc., officials from Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), and representatives from the Georgia Air National Guard to celebrate the opening of ProLogic's newest office on the AASU campus in Savannah, GA. "Innovative, high-tech companies like ProLogic are the backbone of our economy and are working hard to improve our national and local defense capabilities," said Kingston, who was instrumental in recruiting ProLogic to the area. Kingston continued, "ProLogic's presence here in Savannah is a successful example of the cooperation between federal government, local educational institutions, and private industry. Working together, we will create a pathway whereby local educational opportunities and good, well-paying, high tech jobs are created and sustained." ProLogic will be housed in AASU's Cyber and Homeland Security Institute on the AASU campus. ProLogic will work with students and faculty in AASU's School of Computing (SOC) to develop advanced communications software. Graduate and undergraduate students will be able to pursue internships, while future graduates will have the opportunity to explore full-time employment with ProLogic. Ray Greenlaw, dean of the SOC, and Stephen Jodis, assistant dean of the SOC, will manage the project. "We have been collaborating with ProLogic for a couple of years on developing this project and as a result we will be able to provide faculty and students an opportunity to work with a cutting-edge high technology company," Greenlaw said. Thomas Z. Jones, president of Armstrong Atlantic, said, "Armstrong Atlantic State University's School of Computing is truly delighted to be working with ProLogic, Inc. Our Department of Computer Science is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology and can provide the talent the project needs. We look forward to a long-term partnership with ProLogic, Inc." Jay Reddy, ProLogic founder and CEO, said, "We are elated to be here in Savannah. Our strategic location on the Armstrong Atlantic State University campus and partners like Congressman Kingston and the Georgia Air National Guard makes this an ideal place to grow our business." Reddy added, "I firmly believe that our next generation of local talent should not have to move out of state or across the country to find a decent job in a high-tech field.' ProLogic President Daniel Gordon said, "Savannah is a wonderful fit for us, especially considering the commitment to national defense, educational advancement, and cooperative spirit that is part of the fabric of Georgia. As we look to the future, we are eager to expand our work here and provide more opportunities for local graduates and interns." ProLogic's Savannah office will support a number of Homeland Defense goals that will provide a direct benefit not only to the readiness of the state of Georgia, but to the country as a whole. |
