(June 1, 2009) Armstrong Atlantic State University's (AASU) Irish Studies Club will mark Bloomsday 2009 with a screening of Bloom at 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, in Gamble Hall 213 on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street. The event is free and open to the public.
Bloomsday is an annual celebration among James Joyce fans throughout the world.
Adapted from the novel Ulysses by James Joyce, Bloom (2004) follows the story of a grieving father, Leopold Bloom (Stephen Rea), his amorous wife Molly (Angeline Ball), and a young writer, Stephen Dedalus (Hugh O'Conor).
The AASU Irish Studies Club meets periodically for lectures on Irish literature, films, history, and politics. It is open to those in the community interested in Irish culture.
