Free Screening of Bloom June 16

(June 11, 2008) Armstrong Atlantic State University's (AASU) Irish Studies Club will mark Bloomsday 2008 with a screening of "Bloom" at 7 p.m., Monday, June 16, in Gamble Hall 103 on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street. The event is free and open to the public.

Bloomsday is an annual celebration among James Joyce fans throughout the world.

Adapted from the novel "Ulysses" by James Joyce, "Bloom" (2004) follows the story of a grieving father, Leopold Bloom (Stephen Rea), his amorous wife Molly (Angeline Ball), and a young writer, Stephen Dedalus (Hugh O'Conor).

The Irish Studies Club meets periodically for lectures on Irish literature, films, history, and politics. It is open to those in the community interested in Irish culture.
