Faculty Lecture Series April 18(April 14, 2008) Marilyn O'Mallon, assistant professor of nursing at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), will present "Vulnerable Populations: Exploring a Family Perspective of Grief" on Friday, April 18, at 12:10 p.m., in University Hall 156, on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street. The event is free and open to the public. O'Mallon's lecture closes out the 2007-2008 AASU Robert I. Strozier Faculty Lecture series. Human grief is a universal experience that scholars and healthcare practitioners have studied for many years, but there are many aspects of grief that remain vague. Much of the reviewed literature on grief and bereavement is in the psychosocial sciences. O'Mallon will review the literature to explore the concept of grief in the context of family and vulnerable populations and identify any gaps in nursing knowledge and theory.
