Donate Valentine's Day Items for Katrina Victims

Savannah, GA--January 9, 2005--Help Armstrong Atlantic State University's (AASU) Give for the Gulf campaign by delivering smiles, warm wishes, and much-needed items to children of all ages who have been affected by Hurricane Katrina. Donations for Valentine's Day boxes for girls and boys, ages 0-18, can be dropped off in AASU's Solms Hall, room 201, through February 1.

Items needed for the Valentine's Day boxes include small toys and games, books, school supplies, personal hygiene items, hair accessories, Valentine's Day gifts, gift wrap, and funds for shipping costs. No candy please.

AASU's Give for the Gulf is a yearlong, comprehensive initiative to provide assistance to our Gulf Coast neighbors affected by Hurricane Katrina. Created and led by students, staff, and faculty, it is an ongoing, coordinated effort that will address the needs of Gulf Coast residents--both immediately and as those needs change--and lend a helping hand in as many ways as possible. Through fundraising, donations, and community service, the campaign has already raised $8,707.

For more information and/or to volunteer, please contact Nichelle Belair at 912.368.8020. For more information about the relief effort at AASU, visit www.armstrong.edu/katrina.
