Tuthill Scholarship in the amount of $1,400. The Tuthill Scholarship is presented each year to an AASU student majoring in history. Allmond's future education and career plans are to pursue advanced degrees in history. After graduation, he plans to teach history at the college level. The Savannah Chapter of the DAR created the Hazelle B. Tuthill Scholarship to honor the memory of a woman who was an exemplary member of the group for much of her life. A former history teacher in the Savannah-Chatham County public schools, Tuthill was also instrumental in the establishment of Meadow Gardens in Augusta, the home of George Walton, who was the Georgia signer of the Declaration of Independence. |
