Corey Smith to Perform at AASU April 5

(Savannah, GA-February 13, 2007) Georgia native Corey Smith will bring his back-porch twang and soulful Southern singing to Armstrong Atlantic State University's (AASU) Fine Arts Auditorium on Tuesday, April 5, at 8 p.m.

Tickets go on sale on February 26. They can be purchased online at www.coreysmith.org, at Memorial College Center 215 on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street, or at the door. Tickets are $15. AASU students, faculty and staff can purchase advance tickets for $10.

Since the 2003 release of his debut album "Undertones," singer-songwriter Corey Smith has been flying high under the radar, attracting an enthusiastic grassroots following with an original Americana sound. Drawing heavily from the blues, country, and rock traditions of the South, he applies the back-porch twang of an acoustic guitar, a soulful singing voice, and well-crafted lyrics to the task of creating music that is at once distinct and familiar.

AASU's Campus Union Board sponsors this event.
