Main Page Contact Michelle Gordon, 912.961.3173 For Immediate Release Community Invited to Participate in Nursing Accreditation ProcessSavannah, GA---December 23, 2005--The Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) will conduct an on-site evaluation for continued accreditation of the Armstrong Atlantic State University Department of Nursing baccalaureate and master's degree programs during the week of February 20-22. CCNE accredits baccalaureate and higher degree programs in nursing education. Members of the university and the greater Savannah community are part of the constituency served by the Department of Nursing educational programs. Members of the public are invited to submit written and signed comments directly to CCNE. These third-party comments will be accepted by CCNE until 30 days prior to the visit. Comments should be directed to the following: Ms. Sarah JamesonOfficially recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education as a national accreditation agency, CCNE is an autonomous accrediting agency contributing to the improvement of the public's health. CCNE serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by nursing education programs and the continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional education.
