Collins Honored for Work on Military Affairs CommitteeHINESVILLE, GA - June 6, 2006 - Ron Collins, coordinator of buildings, properties, and technology services for Armstrong Atlantic State University's (AASU) Liberty Center, was honored for his work on the Hinesville Military Affairs Committee and presented with a special citation by Maj. Gen. William Webster. The committee was set up by Hinesville Mayor Thomas J. Ratcliffe Jr. and channels the work of its members - many of whom, like Collins, are retired military - into projects such as departure and welcome-home ceremonies for the soldiers stationed at Fort Stewart. Collins' membership on the panel represents AASU's Liberty Center, which includes active military and their families among its clients. The award certificate commends Collins for "your hard work and desire to support Marne soldiers and their families." Collins, who hails from upstate New York, joined the Liberty Center at its inception nine years ago, following a 27-year career with the U.S. Army. |
