Armstrong Atlantic to Host Commencement on May 6


(Savannah, GA, April 26, 2006) Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) will hold commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 6. The event will begin at 10 a.m. in the arena of the Savannah Civic Center in downtown Savannah, and more than 500 degree candidates are expected to be on hand.

The five colleges and schools that make up the university - the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Health Professions, the School of Computing and the School of Graduate Studies - will present approximately 427 candidates for undergraduate degrees and 106 candidates for masters degrees.

Degrees will be conferred by AASU President Thomas Z. Jones and senior members of the university faculty and administration. Dodie Gay, Class of '83 and president of the AASU Alumni Association, will present the alumni welcome to the new graduates. Musical selections will be provided by the AASU Wind Ensemble.
