AASU to Offer Alumni and Friends Siena, Italy Tour


(January 29, 2008) Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) will host its second annual alumni and friends culinary and cultural trip to Siena, Italy on November 8-16, 2008. "Touring and Tasting in Tuscany: A Culinary and Cultural Experience" is designed to provide an immersion into Siena's renowned food, wine, and art scenes.

Planned with the experienced traveler in mind, the trip will offer two hands-on, half-day cooking classes and a visit to a Tuscan winery and vineyard.

Travelers will enjoy cultural presentations by the Dante Alighieri Society, which has partnered with AASU to offer cultural and faculty exchanges over the past years.

Tour goers will also be able to marvel at the beauty of the Tuscan countryside and charming hill towns, absorb the medieval ambiance of Siena, and enjoy a two-day visit to the Eternal City, Rome.

The price of $3,600 includes roundtrip airfare from Savannah to Rome, Siena and Rome hotel accommodations with daily breakfast, and ground transportation to and around Siena. Welcome and farewell dinners and guided tours with wine and olive oil tastings are also included.
