Main Page Contact Francisco Duque, 912.961.3173 For Immediate Release AASU to Host Poet Alice Friman(March 11, 2008) The Poetry Society of Georgia 2007-2008 reading series continues with Alice Friman on Tuesday, March 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Memorial College Center Dining Hall on the Armstrong Atlantic State University campus, 11935 Abercorn Street. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Friman is the author of eight collections of poetry, most recently The Book of the Rotten Daughter (2006). Her books have won both the Ezra Pound Poetry Award from Truman State University and the Sheila Margaret Motton Prize from the New England Poetry Club. Her poems have appeared in Poetry, The Georgia Review, Boulevard, The Southern Review, The Gettysburg Review, and Shenandoah, which awarded Friman the 2002 James Boatwright III Prize for poetry. A professor emerita at the University of Indianapolis, Friman resides in Milledgeville, GA where she is poet-in-residence at Georgia College & State University.
