Main PageAASU to Host 15th Annual Health Careers Information Day(Savannah, GA-January 19, 2007) Regional high school students and other interested individuals will have the opportunity to explore more than 30 careers and educational programs at the 15th annual Health Careers Information Day on February 8. The fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Armstrong Center Ballroom, 13040 Abercorn Street (Southeast corner of Abercorn and Apache Avenue). Organizers are expecting more than 500 high school students representing counties throughout southeast Georgia. This event is free and open to the public. "The purpose of the event is to stimulate interest in health careers in the Savannah region," said Marilyn Buck, assistant dean of Armstrong Atlantic State University's College of Health Professions. Representatives from area colleges, universities, and healthcare organizations will be on hand with information on the following career opportunities: behavioral health, communicative disorders, dental hygiene health administration, medical technology, medicine, nuclear medicine, nursing, oncology, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, radiation therapy, radiography, rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, social work, sonography, and sports medicine.
