AASU's Gilbert to lecture on Prince Edward Island

Savannah, GA-April 5, 2006-Catherine Gilbert of the Department of Nursing at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) will give a lecture on "Prince Edward Island: More than Anne of Green Gables," as part of the Robert Ingram Strozier Faculty Lecture Series on April 21.

The lecture will begin at 12:15 in room 156 of University Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Prince Edward Island, a small island on the Gulf of St. Lawrence on the east coast of Canada, is well known as the setting for the beloved Anne of Green Gables series of novels. Tourists travel from all over the world to visit Green Gables and experience the island as the character Anne Shirley did in the early 20th century. But, as Gilbert will explain, Prince Edward Island has much more to offer as a vacation destination.
