AASU announces Savannah Reads Selzer eventsSavannah, GA-March 17, 2006-Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) will host several events during its third annual citywide read, "Savannah Reads Selzer," April 3-6. This year, the community will read and discuss the book, Mortal Lessons: Notes on the Art of Surgery, a collection of essays by author and former surgeon Richard Selzer. All Week Special display on Richard Selzer in the AASU Lane Library Monday, April 3 Across-the-curriculum discussion Noon, University Hall 158 Tuesday, April 4 Staged reading of Selzer's The Doctor Stories 7 p.m., Ashmore Auditorium Wednesday, April 5 Student-led discussion Noon, University Hall 156 Thursday, April 6 Richard Selzer Himself, The Doctor as Writer 7 p.m., Fine Arts Hall Auditorium All events will be held on the AASU campus and are free and open to the public. No reservations are required Sponsors for the community read are the Gilmer Lecture Series, Memorial Health University Medical Center, the Savannah Morning News, the Campus Union Board, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health Professions, the Office of Academic Affairs,the Department of Languages, Literature, and Philosophy, the AASU Foundation, and the AASU Masquers.
