AASU Presents the History of African American Gospel Music:


Savannah, GA-Celebrate African American History Month with a foot stomping, hand clapping, spirit filled experience. As part of African American History Month, Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) and the Chosen Gospel Music Ministry will present "The History of African American Gospel Music: 'The Reason Why We Sing,' " on February 12. The presentation will begin at 6 p.m. in AASU's Fine Arts Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.

Gospel Music is the cornerstone of the African American worship experience. Chosen Gospel Music Ministry would like to introduce you to the rich history of why we sing. Through an interactive presentation, you will be introduced to the anthology of what gospel music is today, and what influences have shaped it along the way. For more information, contact Michael T.
