AASU Names Grubb Director for Cyber Security Education and TrainingSavannah, GA-January 23, 2005-Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) announces that Randall W. Grubb has accepted the position of director for its newly created Cyber Security Training and Education Center (CSTEC). Prior to joining AASU, Grubb served as a vice president for WetStone Technologies, Inc. He was primarily responsible for managing the Digital Investigations Group, which specializes in applied research and development in the areas of computer forensics and covert channels of communications (both offensive and defensive). He also recently served as a senior instructor in the Technical Investigations Branch of the Computer and Financial Investigations Division of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA. CSTEC's training programs are designed to give investigators the basic tools they need to begin conducting cyber-based investigations and operations against criminal elements. The center will serve criminal investigators, detectives, intelligence specialists, and intelligence analysts from the federal, state, local and military law enforcement communities and cyber security professionals. Training is available for the private and public sectors, including companies and agencies seeking consultation in cyber security development or enhancement. Educational programs will be offered in cyber security for both certification and academic credit, as well as opportunities for applied research and special projects in the area of cyber security and cyber crime prevention. Grubb brings over fifteen years of experience with a wide range of cyber related investigative roles in all facets of criminal, foreign-counter intelligence, terrorism, terrorist financing and other computer crime cases. His specialization is in emerging threats and technologies to include steganography and covert channels, computer crimes, research development and analysis, computer forensics, law enforcement and training. Grubb earned his B.S. in administration of justice from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, in 1989.
