AASU Irish Club Hosts Lecture


(April 22, 2008) The Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) Irish Studies Club will host a free lecture at noon, Wednesday, April 23 in Gamble Hall 107 on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street. The event is free and open to the public.

Marti Lee, AASU instructor of English will present "'A Hag and a Voice': Lady Augusta Gregory and the Irish Renaissance."

Lady Gregory was an Irish playwright and theater manager and an important figure in the Irish Literary Renaissance. With William Butler Yeats, she helped found the Irish Literary Theatre (1898) and the Abbey Theatre (1904).
