AASU International Week Has Shopping Appeal

(Savannah, GA-October 27, 2006) Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) will invest in the lives of artisans around the world by selling their exquisite, handcrafted gifts and home décor. The Ten Thousand Villages festival will be held during AASU's International Week, November 5-10, on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street in Savannah.

Just ahead of the holiday shopping season, there will be hundreds of handcrafted musical instruments, baskets, ornaments, toys, and jewelry made by skilled artisans from more than 30 countries. All proceeds from the festival will help to provide vital income to Third World artisans and their families.

The Ten Thousand Village Festival will be held in different locations on the AASU campus on the following dates:

November 5, 2-5 p.m., International Garden
November 6, 11-2 p.m., Shearouse Plaza
