AASU Hosts Student Research Symposium


(Savannah, GA, April 10, 2007) Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) students will present the results of creative and scholarly work to their peers and community during the 13th annual Student Research Symposium on Tuesday, April 17, and the 2007 Annual Writing Showcase on Friday, April 20. The research poster competition features a record number of 42 submitted projects on all aspects of the arts and sciences, education, and health professions. The writing showcase highlights award-winning papers written by AASU students for class assignments during the year.

The students' work will be on display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the atrium of University Hall on the AASU campus, 11935 Abercorn Street. The event is free and open to the public.

AASU faculty and staff will judge the posters starting at 12:30 p.m., April 17. The top graduate and undergraduate research posters from each college within the university will receive a monetary award.

An awards ceremony is scheduled for noon, April 20, in University Hall 156 on the AASU campus. Research poster and writing showcase awards will be announced at that time. In addition, the winning authors in the writing showcase will present excerpts from their papers.
