Director of Minority Affairs Honored(Savannah, GA, November 20, 2007) Michael T. Snowden, director of the Office of Minority Affairs at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), was recently awarded the Bobby E. Leach Award by the Southern Association for College Students Affairs. The award recognizes a student affairs professional or graduate student who has contributed significantly to the development of multicultural relations on a college or university campus. Snowden received the award during a November conference of the Southern Association for College Student Affairs in Texas. Snowden has been at Armstrong Atlantic State University for more than eight years. He is the recipient of several distinctions, including the University of Southern Mississippi Afro-American Student Organization Advisor's Award; the American Express Minority Alumni Mentorship Program; the Kappa Alpha Psi Savannah Alumni Chapter Man of the Year; and the AASU Student Government Association Student Service Award. |
