Main Page Contact Michelle Gordon; 961.3173 For Immediate Release AASU Announces Winners of 28th Annual Math TournamentSavannah, GA-February 27, 2006-Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) recently welcomed 388 students from 31 high schools in Georgia and South Carolina for the 28th annual AASU Mathematics Tournament. The team competition is split into five Georgia High School Association divisions. Local varsity team winners: Summerville High School (First place in fourth and fifth divisions) Savannah Country Day School (First place in first, second, and third divisions) Hilton Head Preparatory School (First place in Independent Division) Local junior varsity team winners: Savannah Country Day (First place in all divisions) Savannah Christian (Second place in first, second, and third divisions) Savannah Arts Academy (Second place in fourth and fifth divisions) Local individual winners: Samuel Brotherton, Rockdale Magnet School (Top Individual and Top tenth grader) Coby Lu, Alpharetta High School (Top JV Individual) Joseph Laurendi, Summerville High School (Top twelfth grader) Alex Yang, Statesboro High School, and Michael Music, North Springs High School (Top eleventh graders) Maja Wichrowska, Alpharattea High School (Top ninth grader) |
