Brawley to Speak on "Health Care Disparities"

Savannah GA—April 21, 2005—Otis Brawley, associate director of the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University and medical director of the Georgia Cancer Center for Excellence at Grady Health System, will give a lecture on "Health Care Disparities with a Focus on Cancer" on April 29. The lecture will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. in room 110 of Solms Hall, on the campus of Armstrong Atlantic State University.

Brawley has never been one to avoid controversy, and his views have often sparked vigorous discussion in the healthcare community. His work concerning racial differences in patterns of medical care and the similar outcomes among racial and ethnic groups when there is equal treatment is widely cited in medical and lay literature.

This presentation is sponsored by the Repella-AASU Chapter of Alpha Eta, the Allied Health Honor Society. For more information, call David Lake at 912.921.5853 or by email lakedavi@mail.armstrong.edu
