AASU to Host Health Careers Information Day for High School Students

SAVANNAH, GA—January 18, 2005—Regional high school students and other interested individuals will have the opportunity to explore more than 30 careers and educational programs at Health Careers Information Day on February 3. Organizers are expecting over 500 high school students representing counties throughout southeast Georgia. The fair will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Armstrong Atlantic State University's Sports Center. The event is free and open to interested citizens.

"The health fair is being held to stimulate interest in health careers in the Savannah region," said Marilyn Buck, assistant dean of AASU's College of Health Professions.

Representatives from area colleges, universities, and healthcare organizations will be on hand with information on the following career opportunities: behavioral health, communicative disorders, dental hygiene, health administration, medical technology, medicine, nuclear medicine, nursing, oncology, pharmacy, physical therapy, public health, radiation therapy, radiography, rehabilitation, respiratory therapy, sonography, and sports medicine.
