AASU Dental Hygiene Graduates Complete Examinations with 100% Pass Rate

Savannah, GA—The 2003 graduates of the Dental Hygiene program at Armstrong Atlantic State University successfully completed the Southern Regional Testing Agency (SRTA) Board Examination with a one-hundred percent pass rate for the second consecutive year. The twenty-five graduates also passed the National Board Dental Hygiene Examination with a one-hundred percent pass rate for the second consecutive year.

The SRTA examinations have been developed, and are administered and reviewed in accordance with guidelines from the American Dental Association, the American Association of Dental Examiners, the American Psychological Association, the American Educational Research Association and the national Council on Measurement in Education. The examinations were developed to provide a reliable clinical assessment for use by state boards in making valid licensing decisions.

AASU’s Dental Hygiene Program provides students with a high quality academic and professional environment allowing for the development of their intellectual and manipulative competencies and attainment of professional values and characteristics. Inherent to this purpose is the goal to prepare a graduate with competent clinical skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to provide comprehensive dental hygiene patient care.
