AASU Students Elected to Nursing State Board

SAVANNAH, GA—October 28, 2003—Two Armstrong Atlantic State University nursing students were elected state officers of the Georgia Association of Nursing Students. Pedus Eweama, a senior, was elected second vice president. Dorothy Boles, a junior, was elected newsletter editor, both for 2003-04.

Eweama, a native of Nigeria, received his B.A. from Governors State University in Illinois. He serves as secretary of the Armstrong Association of Nursing Students and is a recipient of the Presidential Academic Scholarship Award, the Distinguished Student Leader Award, and the National Deans List. Eweama is the author of When Things Go Wrong: Concepts of Change, published in 2001, and is a co-founder of Child’s Aid Survival and Development International.

Boles, a native of Richmond Hill, received her B.S. from Savannah State University. While studying at SSU, she participated in bioresearch for Jackson Laboratories in Maine and the university's Health Career Opportunities Program (HCOP). She has received several awards, including SSU Dean’s List, National Dean’s List, Junior Women of Excellence Award, and the HCOP Distinguished Academic Award, and is a member of Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society.
