Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing Chapter Approved at AASU

Savannah, GA–Armstrong Atlantic State University’s Department of Nursing has received approval for an independent chapter of Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society. Previously AASU had shared an at-large chapter of Sigma Theta Tau with Georgia Southern University's School of Nursing. The new chapter will receive its charter during a ceremony on December 8 at 2:00 P.M. in AASU's Fine Arts Auditorium.

One hundred sixty-two active AASU members of the Mu Kappa at-large chapter will transfer membership to Rho Psi Chapter, and forty-five new members will be inducted during the ceremony. The purpose of the society is to provide leadership and scholarship in practice, education, and research to enhance the health of all people. Membership is conferred upon undergraduate and graduate nursing students who have met or exceeded rigorous academic standards, and upon college-educated professionals who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in nursing.
