AASU's Walworth and Fraser to Lecture on Literacy and Health

Savannah, GA— December 23, 2004— Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) professors Meg Walworth (left), associate professor of early childhood education, and Jacquie Fraser (right), associate professor of health science, will give a lecture on "Literacy and Health: Photovoice, a Qualitative Study in the Community" as part of the Robert Ingram Strozier Faculty Lecture Series on January 14. The lecture will begin at 12:15 p.m. in University Hall room 156. It is free and open to the public.

An AASU-funded grant enabled Walworth and Fraser to provide cameras to people living in public housing neighborhoods in Savannah. Residents used the cameras to identify health issues in their neighborhoods. The presenters will discuss the project's impact on literacy awareness among the participants.
