AASU's Angela Everett Named Staff Member of the Year

Savannah, GA—June 6 , 2005—Angela Everett, administrative assistant in the registrar's office at Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU), is known for her professionalism, integrity, and dedication to her job and the university. It is for this reason that the faculty and staff selected her as the 2005 Staff Member of the Year. The award is given annually to recognize full-time hourly staff members for their valuable contributions to the university.

An important contact for students, Everett works with department heads in the creation of course schedules each semester and processes all schedule additions, cancellations, and revisions using the university's registration software. She also serves as a liaison with the faculty for verification of student attendance and submission of grades.

Colleagues at the university describe Everett's position as being "extraordinarily complex" and say that Everett is "unfailingly polite and always performing her job quietly, modestly, and without fanfare."

After serving as a teacher in the Savannah-Chatham County Schools, Everett began her career at Armstrong Atlantic as a recorder in the registrar's office.
