Weaver Named Director of AASU Liberty Center

SAVANNAH, GA—January 27, 2005— Joseph G. Weaver, interim director of Armstrong Atlantic State University’s (AASU) Liberty Center in Hinesville, has been named permanently to that position. He began teaching at the center in 1999 and was promoted to the interim position in October 2004.

Michael Donahue, AASU’s executive director of regional education services, said, "Joe Weaver brings years of academic experience to the center. Armstrong Atlantic is fortunate to have someone with his extensive academic background to represent the university in Liberty County."

Weaver has taught at numerous colleges and universities throughout Georgia including AASU, the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, Clayton College and State University, Georgia College and State University, and Brewton-Parker College.

He is the author of a novel, The Sculptor’s Painting, and a college text, Aspects of Critical Thinking.
Weaver earned an A.B. and a Ph.D. from the University Of Georgia where he won the Outstanding Teacher Award in 1994.
