Sebastian Dangerfield Talk March 6

SAVANNAH, GA—Each year as St. Patrick's Day draws near, a crowd gathers at Armstrong Atlantic State University for a day of Irish literature, humor, music, and coffee. The festivities are all part of the Sebastian Dangerfield Talk on Irish Literature, presented annually by Frank Clancy, English professor at AASU. The lecture will be held March 6 at 12:15 P.M. in Armstrong Atlantic's University Hall, Room 156. It is free and open to the public.

o

Clancy will read and discuss the poetry of Rita Ann Higgins, a member of the faculty at University of Galway. Traditional Irish songs will be sung by folk singer Melanie Mirande and tenor Jim McLaughlin.

The lecture is part of the 2001-2002 Robert Ingram Strozier Faculty lecture series at AASU. The series provides a forum for Armstrong Atlantic's professors to report on original research, investigate subjects of special interest, and present classroom lecture topics that deserve a wider audience. The series also offers an opportunity for members of the local community to discover and share the assets of the university that lie beyond the classroom.

For further information about the series, call 961.3173 or visit www.nt.armstrong.edu.faculty.html.
