AASU to Hold Information Sessions for Fast-Track Teaching Program

Savannah, GA—December 23, 2004—Armstrong Atlantic State University will hold general information sessions to explain Destination Teaching/GaTAPP (Georgia Teacher Alternative Preparation Program). The first session will be held on Saturday, January 15, beginning at 10 a.m. in room 156 of AASU's University Hall. Other sessions will be held on Wednesday, January 19 and Thursday, January 20 beginning at 6 p.m. in AASU's Fine Arts Auditorium.

Destination Teaching/GaTAPP is a classroom-based teacher preparation option for individuals who hold a bachelor's degree or higher, but did not complete teacher education requirements as a part of their degree programs. This program is not intended to replace regular college teacher education programs, but serves as an alternative option to become certified to teach.

Anyone interested in participating in this program must attend one of these sessions. Questions regarding all aspects of the program will be addressed at these meetings. For more information, contact the College of Education at 912.921.2138 or visit www.education.armstrong.edu/gtapp/.
