Storytellers Spread the Tale of Peace at AASU, April 15-16

Savannah, GA—April 9, 2004—ArmstrongFest, Armstrong Atlantic State University’s (AASU) week-long spring festival, presents the Tapestry Weavers Storytellers from two opposing cultures—Arab and Jewish—on April 15. The presentation is a being held in conjunction with AASU's Week of the Young Child conference. It will be held in room 157 of University Hall at 4 pm.

B.J. Abraham and Audrey Galex will weave together stories, poetry, and songs as their way of helping to end the war between their two cultures. In this child-focused presentation, the two storyteller offer their alternatives to the war raging between their two peoples in a fun atmosphere designed especially for parents and their children.

The Tapestry Weavers Storytellers will make another presentation at 9 a.m. on April 16 as part of the Week of the Young Child conference for early childhood educators. The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Another speaker, Kathy McCollister, early childhood consultant for Georgia Public Broadcasting, also will make a presentation.

As part of the conference, a large variety of books for all ages will be available for purchase during the Scholastic Book Fair from April 12-16 in the atrium of University Hall at AASU. Cash, checks, and charge cards will be accepted
