Southeastern Regional Teachers Conference, November 19-22

Savannah, GA—November 13, 2003—The Georgia Association of Teacher Educators will host the 50th Annual Conference of the Southeastern Regional Association of Teacher Educators (SRATE) at the Hyatt Regency Savannah, November 19-22. More than 400 educators from 14 southeastern states will attend this year's conference, "Teacher Educators: Issues and Challenges." Distinguished lecturers will address various issues dealing with the improvement of education at all levels in both public and private settings.

This year there will be an additional component included in the SRATE conference. The Future Educators of America (FEA in GA), a joint project of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators Foundation and Phi Delta Kappa International, will host its fall conference on Saturday, November 22. Middle and high school students from FEA in GA chapters from across the state will convene to participate in motivational and learning sessions in preparation for their future careers in teaching. Since 1953, the SRATE Conference has provided teacher educators with opportunities to increase their knowledge and understanding of the complex processes involved in preparing teachers for the classroom.
