
AASU's Dean of Computing Recognized
Internationally

Greenlaw, dean of the School of Computing, was recently
named a Member of the 2005-2006 Computing Accreditation Commission
(CAC) by the ABET Board of Directors. ABET is the recognized accreditor
for college and university programs in applied science, computing,
engineering, and technology. It is a federation of 30 professional
and technical societies representing these fields.
Greenlaw was also recognized as a Fulbright Scholar to Thailand. As
a Fulbright Scholar Greenlaw, will be doing research in parallel and
grid computing, giving lectures in computer science, and working with
a number of universities on curriculum development. He was selected
by The J. William Fulbright Scholarship Board, which is composed of
twelve presidentially appointed members responsible for establishing
worldwide policies for the program and for the selection of Fulbright
recipients.
The author of twelve books on topics such as operating systems, the
World Wide Web, and the Internet, Greenlaw has won a number of international
awards, including two Senior Fulbright Scholarship Research Awards.
His research has been supported by the governments of Germany, Hong
Kong, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, and Spain, as well as the United
States. Over ten different agencies and groups have supported his
research, including the National Science Foundation.
