AASU to Host Nuclear Chemistry Symposium

Savannah, GA—September 22, 2004—Six speakers will present a wide range of topics related to innovations in nuclear chemistry during a half-day symposium on Nuclear Chemistry and the Savannah River Site. Topics will include Transformations in Savannah River Site Soils: Implications on Waste Processing; A Historical Perspective of the Savannah River Site, and others.

Highlighting the chemical, environmental, and historical impact of the Savannah River Site, the symposium will be held on Friday, October 1. It will be held from 1-6 p.m. in room 1407 of Armstrong Atlantic State University's Science Center. The event is free and open to the public.

The symposium is sponsored by the Coastal Georgia and Savannah River Local Sections and funded by the American Chemical Society.
