AASU
Names Winners of 27th Annual Math Tournament
Savannah, GA—Armstrong Atlantic State University (AASU) recently
welcomed 400 students from 33 high schools in Georgia and South Carolina
for the 27th annual AASU Mathematics Tournament. The team competition
is split into five Georgia High School Association divisions.
Local varsity team winners:
South Effingham (2nd place in 3A)
Savannah Christian (1st place in 2A)
Southeast Bulloch (2nd place in 2A)
Hilton Head Prep (1st place in Independent Division)
Trinity Christian (2nd place in Independent Division)
Local junior varsity team winners:
Savannah Arts Academy (1st place in 5A)
Southeast Bulloch (1st place in 2A)
Hilton Head Academy (1st place in Independent Division)
Top individual scores were obtained by Ben Wu, of Rockdale Magnet School
in Conyers, GA, and Joseph Laurendi, of Summerville, SC. Casey Woodrum,
of Southeast Bulloch, finished third in the junior varsity competition.
