AASU Names Winners of 25th Math Tournament

Savannah, GA—On Saturday, February 15, Armstrong Atlantic State University welcomed 443 students from 38 high schools in Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama, for the 25th annual AASU Mathematics Tournament.

Winning varsity teams:
5A division - Hoover HS (Hoover, Alabama)
4A division - South Aiken HS (Aiken, SC)
3A division - Richmond Hill HS
2A division - Southeast Bulloch HS
A division - Savannah Country Day School
Independent division - Northwood Academy (N. Charleston, SC)

Winning junior varsity teams:
5A division - Milton HS (Alpharetta, GA)
4A division - South Forsyth HS (Cumming, GA)
3A division - Savannah Christian Preparatory School
2A division - Southeast Bulloch HS
A division - Savannah Country Day School
Independent division - St. Andrew's School

The winning varsity individual was Weichen Zhu, of Hoover HS; The winning junior varsity individual was Cynthia Tang, of South Forsyth
HS.Two local students, Drew Lupton of Savannah Christian Preparatory School and Carol Young of Savannah Country Day School, were among those tied
for fourth in the junior varsity competition.
