LOST SAVANNAH
PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE COLLECTION OF THE GEORGIA HISTORICAL SOCIETY
BY LUCIANA M. SPRACHER

SAVANNAH, GA--Arcadia Publishing is pleased to present its latest title, Lost Savannah: Photographs from the collection of the Georgia Historical Society, by Luciana M. Spracher. Spracher will be signing copies of her new book at Barnes & Nobles in Oglethorpe Mall on Friday, April 10, at 7:00 P.M. For more information, contact Melanie Smith at 912.353.9231.

Drawing on collections of the Georgia Historical Society, a rich presentation of Savannah’s public, private, and commercial architecture has been brought together in this unique photographic volume. Through vintage images, one can see the city’s development and growth as well as its subsequent decay prior to the preservation movement. Lost Savannah examines individual buildings, such as Union Station and the Bulloch-Habersham House, as well as the evolution of Savannah’s architectural landscape, including West Broad Street and Elbert Square.

Spracher, a freelance researcher working as Bricks and Bones Historical Research, has collaborated with a variety of clients preserving the built environment through historical documentation. Her unique approach to Savannah’s history combines architectural history, property research, and genealogy for a greater understanding of the relationship between people and the built environment. Spracher’s love of architecture brought her to Savannah, where she received her bachelor’s degree in historic preservation from Savannah College of Art and Design and master’s degree in history from Armstrong Atlantic State University.
