AASU
to Offer Certificate in Forensic Science
Savannah, GAArmstrong Atlantic State University's College of Arts
and Sciences announces the creation of a new certificate program in
forensic science.
"As the methodology of criminal investigators becomes more firmly
rooted in the natural and physical sciences, it is important that practitioners
in the criminal justice system have a better foundation in the sciences,"
said Ed Wheeler, dean of AASU's College of Arts and Sciences. "It
is also important that more persons whose primary training is in the
sciences become criminal justice professionals."
This certificate will be of interest primarily to undergraduate students
with majors or minors in biology, chemistry, or criminal justice and
to post baccalaureate students who have substantial academic backgrounds
in biology or chemistry. Students will receive a Certificate in Forensic
Science after completion of six approved courses in biology, chemistry
and criminal justice.
