AASU becomes Training Partner for Project Safe Neighborhoods

Savannah, GA—December 3, 2004—Armstrong Atlantic State University has been selected as a training partner for Project Safe Neighborhoods. Partnered with the United States Attorney's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol,Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Armstrong Atlantic will use the grants to train thousands of law enforcement officials on how to effectively use the program.

Officers will be taught when and how to enforce the federal gun laws to remove violent felons from our streets. Project Safe Neighborhoods is a nationwide commitment to reduce gun crime in America by networking existing local programs that target gun crime and providing those programs with additional tools necessary to be successful.
