AASU to Host PROMOTE Georgia Award Ceremony

Savannah—April 13, 2005—Teams of school children from across southeast Georgia will be honored at AASU on May 13, 2005, for their accomplishments in creating instructional websites in both the regional and statewide competition PROMOTE Georgia. The competition will be held at 6 p.m. in room 156 of AASU's University Hall.

The PROMOTE Georgia Project provides students the opportunity to work in teams to perform research and develop educational websites that teach others about a selected topic. PROMOTE Georgia focuses on teaching standards through Project-Based Learning. Supervised by a classroom teacher, teams of students will select a content standard that is applicable to their grade level and develop and educational Web site designed to teach others.
