Library Renovation is Underway
Savannah,
GA—May 24, 2005—The renovation of Armstrong Atlantic State
University's Lane Library is scheduled to begin June 1. For the next
academic year, the library will be temporarily housed in the recently
completed site of the future Student Recreation Center, located on
Library Drive.
Throughout the first week of June, the library's first floor will
remain open to the public for regular use while the entire second
floor is moved to the temporary location. The first floor public computers,
the journal collection, the reference collection, and reference services
will be available.
All library services will cease on Thursday, June 9, and will reopen
with a full range of services the third week of June in the temporary
location. Library officials do not anticipate a disruption of online
library resources, including the GALILEO and other databases or the
electronic reserves.
Lane Library is scheduled to be completed in summer 2006.
